The Department of Physics organized an educational visit for B. Sc. III students to attend the expert lectures and interaction sessions conducted by Prof. H. C. Verma, Padma Shri Awardee, eminent physicist, renowned author and founder of the National Anveshika Network of India (NANI) on 09th July 2026. The programme was attended by Dr. V. S. Pawar, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics along with four B. Sc. III Physics students: Miss. Pratibha Patil, Miss. Siddhika Mulla, Miss. Komal Kambale and Miss. Suhani Done. The first session was held at Rajarshi Shahu Senate Hall, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, where Prof. H. C. Verma delivered an inspiring lecture on “Quantum Physics and Physics as a Career: Opportunities in IISc, IITs, IISERs, TIFR and International Physics Olympiad”. During his lecture, he explained the importance of conceptual understanding in Physics and encouraged students to develop analytical thinking rather than relying on rote learning.
The second session was conducted at the Department of Physics, Rajaram College, Kolhapur, under the National Anveshika Network of India (NANI). Prof. Verma emphasized hands-on learning, joyful science education and the significance of experiments in developing scientific temperament. Live demonstrations, interactive discussions and conceptual problem-solving activities enabled participants to understand physical principles more effectively. The programme proved to be highly informative, inspiring and beneficial for both the students and faculty member. It enhanced the students' conceptual understanding of Physics, motivated them towards higher studies and research and highlighted the importance of scientific curiosity and innovative thinking. The educational visit successfully fulfilled its objective of exposing students to quality science education and inspiring them to build successful careers in Physics.

The Department of Physics organized the B. Sc. III Physics Semester-V Seminar for the academic year 2026-2027. The seminar programme was conducted on 17th August 2026 in the B. Sc. III Classroom (Room No. 92). The seminars were organized with the objective of developing students understanding of important concepts in physics and their applications, while also improving their presentation, communication and scientific-thinking skills. A total of 13 students participated in the seminar and presented topics from different areas of physics such as Mathematical Methods of Physics, Classical Mechanics, Energy Studies and Electrodynamics. The seminar provided students with an opportunity to study their assigned topics in detail and present the concepts before their classmates. The presentations covered both fundamental and applied aspects of physics. The seminars were evaluated by a panel of faculty members: Dr. V. V. Ganbavle, Miss. V. S. Dhobale, Dr. V. S. Pawar, Dr. S. S. Kumbhar, Mr. S. D. Pathan, and Miss P. Jangam mam. The evaluators assessed the students presentations based on their subject knowledge, clarity of concepts, presentation skills, communication and overall performance. The activity encouraged students to participate actively in academic discussions and helped them gain confidence in scientific presentation. The seminar was compulsory for all B. Sc. III Physics students, as communicated through the departmental notice. Overall, the seminar programme was an academically useful activity that contributed to the development of students’ subject knowledge, presentation skills and scientific attitude.
